The Sons of Hodir are a Northrend faction based at their area of Dun Niffelem in the Storm Peaks. A player can only start to gain reputation with the Sons of Hodir once they have completed a long quest chain, after which they will be able to visit Dun Niffelem and start completing daily quests.
Neutral and Friendly Reputation with the Sons of Hodir
Completing the quest chain with the Sons of Hodir will immediately take the player from hated to neutral, at this point two daily quests will become available at Dun Niffelem which when completed will take the player to friendly status. Once a player is friendly they can continue with the two daily quests available.
Honoured Reputation with the Sons of Hodir
Once a player becomes honoured with the Sons of Hodir a further two daily quests will become available, which can be completed along with the other two daily quests. Completing the four daily quests will quickly boost a player’s reputation.
Revered Reputation with the Sons of Hodir
It will not take long for a player to become revered with the Sons of Hodir, once they do one more daily quest will become available. This gives the player a total of five daily quests to complete, each giving between 250 and 500 reputation, and will soon get the player to exalted reputation.
Hand-in Items with the Sons of Hodir
In addition to the daily quests available, there are two different items a player can hand in for extra reputation, as with most other hand-in items, the quest is repeatable and not a daily. The first item a player can hand in is ‘Relics of Ulduar’, which are handed in 10 at a time. These relics drop of the mobs killed for the daily quests such as ‘Blowing Hodir’s Horn’, and they also drop frequently in Halls Lightning from any mobs. The Relics of Ulduar’ are not soulbound so can be sold on the Auction House or posted to friends. The other hand-in item is an ‘Everfrost Chip’ which the first time a player picks up will say ‘this item begins a quest’, afterwards, the hand-in will be repeatable. These chips spawn in random locations around the Storm Peaks but are much more difficult to obtain then the Relics of Ulduar.
Exalted Reputation with the Sons of Hodir
Completing the five daily quests and handing in many items will soon make the player exalted, for which they will get an achievement for. In addition there are a number of exclusive items available from the quartermaster at Dun Niffelem once exalted, these include very nice shoulder enchants, crafting recipes such as leather working and jewel crafting and mammoth mounts.
Becoming Exalted with the Sons of Hodir without doing the quests
A player can become exalted with the Sons of Hodir without completing the quest chain, as emblems from dungeons and raids can be exchanged for reputation tokens. However if a player becomes exalted with the Sons of Hodir this way, they will not be able to purchase anything from the quartermaster, and miss out on a nice amount of gold for not completing the dailies. This a relatively easy faction to become exalted with and is definitely worth completing it by doing the quests available.
